Women’s Golf finishes Day One of RiverTowne Invitational

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team opened up its Spring Season on Monday at the RiverTowne Invitational hosted by Charleston Southern.
The teams were scheduled to play 36 holes, but were unable to complete the second round due to light.
The Bulldogs did card a 322 in round one after not having teed it up competitively since November.
Madyson Gold posted the low individual score for Asheville with a 79 in the first round and was one of just a few golfers to compete two rounds, shaving two strokes off with a round-two 77.
Like Gold, Amber Capote was able to complete two rounds, opening with an 81 before an impressive round two (75) with a birdie on hole No. 17.
Venecia Zaia fired a round-one 80, birdieing hole 18 while Hailey Pendleton opened with an 82.
