Last Time Out – Asheville dropped its final game of its non-conference schedule a week ago to No. 10 Arkansas by a score of 85-51. The loss moved the Bulldogs' record to 8-5 on the season.
Among the National Leaders – Drew Pember currently ranks among the top 10 players in the nation in free throws made (1st - 81) and attempts (4th - 96), as well as blocks (5th - 36) and blocks per game (7th - 2.77). Furthermore, Tajion Jones ranks among the top 30 players in the nation in terms of 3-point field goal percentage (12th - .482), 3-pointers made (19th – 40), and 3-pointers made per game (29th – 3.08).
Protecting Home Court – The Bulldogs are perfect 4-0 in home games this season and they will look to continue that trend on Thursday. Asheville is averaging 94.8 points per game at Kimmel Arena this season and five different players are averaging in double figures in Pember (18.5 PPG), Jones (13.8 PPG), Jamon Battle (13.5 PPG), Fletcher Abee (11.8 PPG), and Dean Gabrelcik (10.5 PPG).
Tajion nears another milestone – In a season where he became the program's all-time 3-pointer leader and moved into the top 10 on Asheville's all-time scoring list, Jones needs just 33 more points to move into fifth place on Asheville's all-time point scoring chart. He would pass former Bulldog JP Primm (1,689 points) and will have only Matt Dickey and his 1,778 points ahead of him on the scoring list among players that played during the program's Division I era.
About Radford – Radford will bring a 6-7 record into Big South play. The Highlanders will look to snap a four-game losing streak on Thursday with their last victory coming on December 4 vs. George Washington. A player to watch for Radford is Josiah Jeffers as he currently leads the conference in both assists (59) and assists per game (4.5).
Series Rewind vs. Highlanders – The all-time series between the Bulldogs and Highlanders has been tightly contested with Radford holding the slight edge, 39-38, in games since Asheville moved to the Division I level. However, the Bulldogs downed Radford by a score of 78-74 in overtime last season behind Pember's 41-point, 11-rebound performance.
