Six Bulldogs Women's Soccer Players Earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Six UNC Asheville women's soccer players earned Academic All-District honors by College Sports Communicators, announced by the organization today (Tuesday, Nov. 15).

Junior defender Jasmine Barry, sophomore midfielder Ava Bjorkman-Tracy, sophomore midfielder Carson Bogan, senior midfielder Barrett Eidson, senior forward Olivia Lenderman and senior goalkeeper Bronwyn Luitwieler each received honors from UNC Asheville.

To receive Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must have been at their institution for at least one calendar year, played in at least 50 percent of their team's contests and maintain at least a cumulative 3.50 grade point average.

Barry played in 16 matches this season, making 14 starts. She helped anchor UNC Asheville's back line in four shutouts this season, while playing all 90 minutes on five occasions this season.

This is Barry's first career Academic All-District honor. The Brisbane, Australia native holds a 3.80 grade point average majoring in biology.

Bjorkman-Tracy appeared in 16 matches this season, making nine starts. She registered an assist in the win over South Carolina State for one point on the season, while playing a season-high 90 minutes against Longwood.

This is Bjorkman-Tracy's first career Academic All-District honor. The St. Paul, Minn. Native holds a 3.87 grade point average majoring in environmental studies.

Bogan played in 12 matches this season, getting one start against South Carolina State. She tallied an assist in that contest for one point on the season. She also played a season-high 62 minutes in the 6-0 win.

This is Bogan's first career Academic All-District honor. The Pittsburgh, Pa. native holds a 4.00 grade point average majoring in health and wellness promotion.

Eidson played and started in all 17 matches for the Bulldogs this season. She totaled 12 shots, while also playing the entire 90 minutes nine times this year.

This is Eidson's first career Academic All-District honor. The Tarboro, N.C. native holds a 3.82 grade point average majoring in new media, with a double minor in health and wellness promotion and psychology.

Lenderman appeared in nine matches, making her lone start against Presbyterian. She totaled a season-high 42 minutes in the match against Presbyterian.

This is Lenderman's first career Academic All-District honor. The Asheville, N.C. native holds a 3.85 grade point average majoring in health and wellness promotion.

Luitweiler played and started in 13 matches this season, making 61 total saves and owning a 1.46 goals against average.

This is Luitwieler's first career Academic All-District honor. The Rome, Ga. native holds a 3.98 grade point average in English with a minor in mass communication.

The group moves on to be voted on for College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® honors.
