BIG SOUTH RELEASE

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced on Tuesday that Azalea Mihailovich, Anna Doane, and Bronwyn Luitwieler of the UNC Asheville women's soccer team all earned All-Big South honors. Mihailovich earned spots on both the All-Big South Second Team and the All-Big South Freshman Team. Doane meanwhile, earned Second Team honors as well, while Luitwieler was the team's All-Academic team honoree.

Mihailovich made an instant impact for Asheville in 2022. The freshman midfielder played 14 games this fall, which included 12 starts. She finished third on the team with eight points (three goals, two assists). Four of her eight points came in one match on October 15 at Longwood where she scored a goal and added two assists to help fuel a 3-1 victory for Asheville. For her efforts, Mihailovich was named the Big South's Freshman of the Week on October 17.

Doane was one of Asheville's staples defensively this season. She finished third on the team in minutes played (1,304), added two assists, and attempted five shots herself as a defender. Doane also helped Asheville tally four shutouts this fall, which is the program's most since 2019.

Luitwieler, who will be graduating from UNC Asheville with a degree in English Literature and French, served as the Bulldogs' primary netminder as a senior. She finished her final season with a record of 3-7-3 with 61 saves, a .763 save percentage, and a 1.47 goals against average. Luitwieler, who was also the Big South's Defensive Player of the Week on September 26, leaves Asheville ranking eighth all-time in program history with 129 saves.
