BIG SOUTH RELEASE

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Monday that UNC Asheville men's soccer player Brendan Herb had been named the Big South's Co-Offensive Player of the Week. This marks the first weekly honor of Herb's career and the third weekly honor that a Bulldog has earned from the Big South this fall.

Herb played a key role in Asheville's 2-1 win over Radford on Saturday. The Corvallis, Oregon native picked up an assist in helping set up Asheville's first goal against the Highlanders to tie the score 1-1 in the 79th minute. His biggest contribution, however, was when he buried a penalty shot in the 90th minute of play to give the Bulldogs the 2-1 victory.

Herb joins fellow Bulldogs Sam Pitts-Eckersall (Freshman of the Week) and Sam Presser (Freshman of the Week) as weekly award winners for Asheville on the 2022 campaign.

Herb and the rest of the Bulldogs will be back in action on Wednesday when they welcome USC Upstate to Greenwood Field in the final match of the regular season. Kickoff between the Bulldogs and Spartans is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
