Men’s Soccer travels to Radford on Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's soccer team will hit the road for the final time this season on Saturday when it visits Radford for a Big South clash. Kickoff between the Bulldogs and Highlanders is set for 3 p.m. on ESPN+.
Last Time Out – Asheville fell on the road to High Point last Friday by a score of 5-0. Following that contest, the Bulldogs are now 1-10-4 overall and 0-3-3 in Big South play.
Freshmen leading the way – Asheville has been led on the scoresheet this fall by a pair of freshmen in Sam Pitts-Eckersall (six goals) and Sam Presser (three goals, four assists). Pitts-Eckersall and Presser rank first and second on the Bulldogs in points scored. The last time that a freshman led Asheville in points scored in a season was in 2018 when Izaiah Vignali led the way with 10 points.
Visiting Virginia –Asheville has posted a record of 0-1-2 in their last three matches played in Virginia with the last being a 3-3 tie at VMI last October.
About the Highlanders – Radford enters Saturday's match with the Bulldogs sporting an overall record of 4-9-2 this fall, which includes a 3-3-1 mark in Big South play. A player to watch for Radford on Saturday is its primary goalkeeper Joseba Incera. Incera leads all Big South goalkeepers in saves per game (5.20) and ranks second in total saves (52). Additionally, Incera's saves per game average ranks ninth nationally.
Series Rewind vs. Radford – Asheville and Radford have met 38 times over the years with the Highlanders winning 27 of those contests. The Bulldogs, who will be looking for their first win at Radford since 2011 on Saturday, have battled Radford to tightly-contested matches recently as the last four matches have been decided by one goal or less.
