ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville cross country teams will be back in action on Saturday when they compete at the USC Upstate Invitational in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The women's 5K race will kick things off at 9 a.m. with the men's 8K race to follow around 9:45 a.m.
Last Time Out – Asheville was last in action on October 1 at the Live in Lou Classic in Louisville, Kentucky. The Bulldogs ran well as a unit on that day and the duo of John Ciprich (24:16.9) and Adam Hessler (24:24.2) both broke the program's 8K record to lead the way.
Impressive Day for the Bulldogs – Ciprich and Hessler were not the only Bulldogs that had stellar runs in Louisville. Note from Coach - "This will be our final race before the Big South Conference Championships," said UNC Asheville Head Coach Adam Puett. "It will give us a very good idea of where our team is at and what we need to improve upon heading into the championship season. We have the opportunity to race other Big South Conference schools as well as regional rivals, so it will be a fun contest to see how competitive we can be."
