ASHEVILLE, N.C. – During one of the most action-packed weekends of the fall season, UNC Asheville Athletics is putting on a Bulldog Big Blue Weekend starting on Friday. In an attempt to increase school spirit at athletic events, each event will feature giveaways and in-game activities for students to enjoy.
Bulldog Big Blue Weekend begins Friday evening with UNC Asheville volleyball's Dig Pink match. Students will receive their punch cards for marking attendance upon entry to the match. Students and fans are encouraged to wear pink to Friday's match. Pink donuts will be available for the first 50 students. The match starts at 6 p.m.
Saturday's action starts with volleyball at 2 p.m. The first 200 students will receive a "Bulldog Big Blue Crew" t-shirt and are encouraged to wear it during the duration of Saturday's events. Both volleyball matches on Friday and Saturday will take place in the Justice Center.
The final event of the weekend will be the men's soccer game at 6 p.m. at Greenwood Field. Men's soccer will be honoring its senior members before the game. Free pizza will be available for the first 80 students to arrive.
Students will need to present their student I.D. to receive their punch card. They then will need to take their punch card to every event, get it punched upon arrival, and must stay through the first two sets of volleyball and through the first half of men's soccer to get it punched again. Students must get their card punched twice at each event in order to be entered into the drawing for the LED HD Smart TV.
Students must attend all three events, get their card punched twice, and turn their card in after the first half of the men's soccer game to be eligible for the grand prize.
The winner of the grand prize will be drawn at halftime of the men's soccer game on Tuesday, Oct. 18. The winner must be in attendance on Tuesday.
