Golf finishes day one of Pirate Collegiate Classic

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team opened up its fall season on Monday, playing 36 holes in the Pirate Collegiate Classic at the Greenville Country Club.
As a team, the Bulldogs were consistent on the day, totaling 313 and 312 in rounds one and two, respectively.
Venecia Zaia and Phoebe Carles matched each other for the day, carding 8-over-par 152's to sit in a tie for 13th place. Zaia opened up with a 76 on the first 18, firing another 76 on the second 18 of the day. After shooting a 79 in round one, Carles bounced back with a 1-over-par 73 in round two.
Amber Capote is sitting in a tie for 18th place after the first day, totaling 10-over-par after two rounds.
