Golf’s Zaia finishes second in Future Champions Collegiate Series

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Venecia Zaia of the UNC Asheville Women's Golf team competed in the Future Golf Champions Collegiate Series Tournament from July 24-26, posting a 1-under-par 212 to finish in second place overall.  

The tournament, which was held at the par-71 Arrowhead Golf Course in Oceanside, California, began on Saturday, where Zaia posted a 1-over-par 72. On Sunday, the rising sophomore responded in a big way, shooting a 2-under-par 69 to become one of just 10 golfers to make the cut. On Monday, the Murrieta, California, native closed out the tournament by shooting even par, locking up the No. 2 spot in the process.
