Track & Field Readies for Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships

05.09.2021 | Track and Field

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville track & field teams will begin competition at the 2021 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Monday. The Championships will take place Monday through Wednesday at Vert Stadium on the campus of High Point.

Last Time Out – Asheville last competed in a meet on the 24th of April at the Aggie Classic at North Carolina A&T. Overall, the Bulldogs logged six podium finishes to go along with several personal bests and 2021-bests.

Note from Coach –
"The conference championship meet is one of the primary competitions we focus on every season," said Head Coach Joel Williams. "We're pleased to be heading into this one mostly healthy. We've had 16 days since our last meet, but we've made the most of that by having some great practices, so we go in feeling good about our prospects."

Championships Past –
The Bulldogs have competed in every edition of the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships since 1994. The men's team's best finish was fourth on two occasions, while the women's program placed third twice in 1995 and 2000. Since 1994, the Bulldogs have totaled 40 conference championships in a variety of events.
