HIGH POINT, N.C. – Four Asheville track & field outdoor records fell on day two of the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships. At the conclusion of Tuesday's action, both the men's and women's teams rank fifth in the point standings with one day remaining.

The first two school records to fall Tuesday came in field events. Claudia Prieto continued her stellar season by breaking her own record in the long jump with a leap of 6.01-meters. Prieto's mark in the long jump ranked second amongst the field. The other record-breaking performance came courtesy of Solomon McDonald in the shot put. His toss of 17.29-meters broke a school record that stood for over a decade by Nathan Hedgepeth (17.00m) in 2005 and placed him third overall.

The majority of the rest of the events on day two were prelim events in a variety of track events. Bulldogs qualified for Wednesday's finals in all but one event. Anthony Mason finished second during qualifying with a time of 47.94 in the 400-meter dash, which broke the school record in the event. Fellow Bulldogs Isaac Teasley and Bryson Riddick will also appear in Wednesday's finals in the 400m. Furthermore, Akin Williams set a new Ashevile-best mark in the 100-meter dash clocking in at 10.71.

Other standout outings during qualifying saw several new personal-best times set as well. Alyx Evans (800-meter, 1500-meter) qualified for a pair of final races Wednesday by finishing in the top three in each of her events. Gunner Hogston also finished among the top three qualifying times in the 800-meter dash with a time of 1:52.87.

The final day of the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships will commence at noon on Wednesday. Live Results for the final day can be found HERE and the ESPN+ broadcast will go live at 4:15 p.m.
