Men’s tennis defeats N.C. Central 6-1

DURHAM, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's tennis team visited N.C. Central on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Eagles 6-1.
Oli Nolan and Sirawit Daosaengsawang wasted no time taking care of business at the No. 1 doubles, sweeping their match 6-0. Charlie Morkel and Jon Brann Reid teamed up for a 6-4 victory at the No. 2 doubles spot as the Bulldogs quickly grabbed the team point.
Nolan battled at the No. 1 singles spot, ultimately edging out Stipar Madzan 7-5 in the third and decisive set. Morkel continued his strong start to his senior season, winning 7-2, 6-3. Reid did well in his collegiate debut, topping his opponent 7-5, 6-2 to grab his first singles victory. Leo Bierbaum closed things out for Asheville, taking the No. 5 singles flight 6-2, 6-1.
With the win, Asheville improves to 2-1 on the season. The Bulldogs waste no time returning to action, traveling to Spartanburg Sunday for a match at Wofford.
