Men’s Tennis to host Tusculum on Thursday

ASHEVILLE N.C. – After officially opening up the spring 2021 season on Saturday with a 5-2 victory over UNC Greensboro, the UNC Asheville Men's Tennis Team returns to the court on Thursday, welcoming Tusculum to the Asheville Racquet Club.
Charlie Morkel got his senior season off to a strong start, teaming up with Leo Bierbaum to win their No. 2 doubles match 6-4, before taking care of business 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 2 singles flight. Fellow senior Oli Nolan opened up 2021 with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at the No. 1 singles flight, with Harry Thursfield and Bierbaum each claiming victory at the No. 3 and No. 4 singles flights, respectively.
Tusculum has looked strong so far in 2021, going 3-1 with its lone loss being to No. 23-ranked North Georgia. Most recently, the Pioneers topped Milligan 6-1 on Sunday (February 21). Dmitry Bezborodov is 3-1 at the No. 1 singles flight and Frank Bonacia is 3-0 on the season, playing at the No. 3 and No. 4 flights.
