Lize-Alet Morkel named Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After helping Asheville defeat Emmanuel College on Saturday, junior Lize Alet Morkel was named the Big South Women's Tennis Player of the Week for all matches played February 8-14.
Alet Morkel, who is a perfect 3-0 at the No. 1 doubles position for the season, continued her strong play with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Emmanuel's Maria Raich Sloans. Western Cape, South Africa, native teamed up with Taylor Love at the No. 1 doubles, winning 7-6. The duo is 1-0 at No. 1 doubles this season, and 1-1 at the No. 2 doubles position. Alet Morkel is the Bulldogs' lone undefeated singles player thus far in 2021, having not dropped more than four points in a set.
The Bulldogs are in action on Wednesday, hosting Western Carolina at 3 p.m.
