Women’s Golf finishes day two of French Broad Collegiate Invitational

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team competed in round two of French Broad Collegiate Invitational at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove on Tuesday, as Venecia Zaia climbed up the leaderboard to T-10.
After day two, the Bulldogs are in the middle of the pack, sitting in eighth place of 13 teams.
After struggling a bit to start, Zaia recovered nicely, birdieing holes No. 6 and No. 7 to close out the front nine. The sophomore from Murrieta, California, opened the back nine with a birdie adding two more in her last eight to finish with a 2-over-par 73.
Playing as an individual, Baylee Evans fired a 76, birdieing holes No. 7 and No. 11. After opening with a 1-over-par 72 on Monday, Madyson Gold totaled an 81 in round two and is now T-21 going into Wednesday.
The third and final round from The Cliffs at Walnut Cove begins Wednesday morning with split tees on holes No. 1 and No. 10. Follow all the live stats on Golfstat.com.
