ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's soccer team will host High Point at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Greenwood Field to close out its fall season.
The Bulldogs fell last Saturday at USC Upstate 5-0 after a flurry of early goals by the Spartans. Freshman Bryan Womé led the team in shots and registered his first shot on goal in his young Bulldog career, while Leon Musial recorded five saves in net.
Scouting the Panthers
High Point stands at 6-6-3 and 4-0-3 in conference play, good for second place in the Big South. The Panthers are led by redshirt junior goalkeeper Holden Trent, who has the highest save percentage in the Big South at .733 and leads the league in shutouts at six. Junior MD Myers has also cracked the top-10 in scoring in the Big South at five goals on the year while registering the highest shots-on-goal average in the league.
Series History
The Bulldogs are 5-19-2 all-time against the Panthers, with the most recent contest coming last Spring in the Big South Semifinals, where the Bulldogs pushed nationally ranked High Point to the limit in a 1-0 loss in overtime.
