Assistant Athletics Director Punter Spence to serve as Senior Woman Administrator

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone announced Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance Erin Punter Spence as the department's Senior Woman Administrator on Monday.
"Erin's experience as a former student-athlete at Indiana University, her work with our Student-Athlete Advisory Council, and her commitment to gender equity make her the ideal person to assume the role of Senior Woman Administrator, stated Janet R. Cone, Director of Athletics. "I look forward to having her join our Athletics Senior Leadership Team."
Working in the athletics department since 2004, Spence was promoted to the position of Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance in August. In addition to overseeing all of UNC Asheville Athletics compliance, Spence's roles in Asheville have included: compliance, marketing and branding, corporate relations, student services and more.
Outside of her campus duties, Spence has served on the Marketing and Communications National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) since 2018. Additionally, Spence served on the strategic communications committee of National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA), from 2013-2017 and was a member of the membership committee for Women Leaders in College Sports (formerly known as NACWAA) in 2015-16.
