Men’s soccer drops contest to league-leading Campbell

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville Men's Soccer team hosted top-of-the table Campbell on Wednesday evening, falling to the Camels 5-1.
The Camels were locked in from the start, registering four goals in the first and adding one more in the second to take the victory. Campbell improves to 11-3-1 overall and a perfect 6-0 in Big South play, while Asheville drops to 0-6 in league play.

How it Happened
The Camels wasted little time putting the pressure on, forcing a save from Musial in the second minute. In the 10th minute, it was the league's leading goal scorer Tyler Young who opened the scoring with a shot to the lower left-hand side. Conor Behan pushed a shot high in the 12th and in the 23rd, it was Young who set up Jamie Lamb for the score. The Young show continued in the 28th, as the redshirt sophomore took a Moses Mensah pass and converted. Kemy Amiche registered a fourth in the 36th as the teams went into the break.
Jake Kemhadjian and Myles Edmondson threatened early in the second but could not convert. Despite Asheville hanging tough in the second, Campbell added a fifth goal in the 82nd to seal the contest. In the 89th Asheville would get on the board as Kemhadjian cut back and played the ball to his left where Evan Lewis lasered a shot into the back of the net.
What's Next
The Bulldogs hit the road Saturday for a non-conference match, traveling to VMI for a 3:00 p.m. kickoff.
