Bulldogs take on Blue Hose on Senior Day
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's soccer team returns to Greenwood Field for the first time in over a month on Saturday, welcoming Presbyterian to town for the inaugural "Be the Match" game with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m.
This will be just the fourth match of the season for the Bulldogs at home and the third at Greenwood, with weather impacting multiple games.
Be the Match
Not only will Saturday serve as the inaugural "Get in the Game" match for UNC Asheville men's soccer, it will be the first of its kind in collegiate soccer to benefit the Be the Match organization. The initiative, powered by UNC Asheville's Taylor Durall, is to raise awareness to the National Bone Marrow Donor program, grow its registry and find patients who are in need of a match that could save their life from diseases such as leukemia or lymphoma. The match will feature food trucks, alumni tents, beverage trucks and the ability to bid on commemorative jerseys. All proceeds will go to supporting the Be the Match organization.

Scouting the Blue Hose
Presbyterian sits 4-4-2 overall but is 0-3-1 in conference play. After the Blue Hose tied High Point, they have dropped three straight, most recently falling to Radford 2-1. Presbyterian has scored a league-low seven goals this season, but have conceded 12 scores on the season – also a league low. Goalkeeper Aidan Montoure ranks second in the Big South in goals against average (1.37), save percentage (.700) and shutouts (three).
Series History
The Bulldogs have gotten the better of the Blue Hose in their history, going 8-3-4 all-time. Asheville has gone just 1-2-1 in its last four meetings with Presbyterian, falling on the road 3-2 this past spring. The Bulldogs have not lost a game in the series at Greenwood Field.
