EDISTO ISLAND, S.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team had another strong outing in the Edisto Island Invitational on Monday, as Hailey Pendleton shot a career-low 71. As a team, the Bulldogs were just two shots off yesterday's record-breaking 288, totaling 290 to sit in a tie for fourth place entering the third and final round on Tuesday.

Pendleton, who opened up with a 78 on Sunday, was locked in from the start Monday, registering birdies on hole No. 4 and No. 17 to record the lowest round for the team on the day. The sophomore from Matthews, North Carolina, jumped up eight spots in the standings after her performance and sits T-31, shattering her previous collegiate best round of 77 (Low Country Intercollegiate).

Madyson Gold has been a model of consistency in this tournament, posting her second straight 1-over-par 72 on Monday with three birdies on the day. Venecia Zaia, who carded the lowest round in team history on Sunday, finished with a 76 on Monday but is still in a good position entering round three, sitting in a tie for ninth place.
