Bulldogs Complete Play at Thompson Invitational

KANE'OHE, O'AHU, Ha. – UNC Asheville's women's golf team wrapped up its eighth tournament of the season, placing 16th at the 35th-annual Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, hosted by the University of Hawaii, Wednesday.
The Bulldogs completed the final 18 holes of competition at the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course with a combined score of 337 – eight strokes lower than their second-round score.
Senior Kellen Alsip fired the low round of the day with a 79, wrapping up her three rounds with a combined score of 242 to finish in a tie for 78th on the individual leaderboard. She picked up a birdie on the par-5 seventh hole and recorded 10 pars.
Sophomore Baylee Evans also finished in a tie for 78th in the tournament. She closed out her stay on the islands with an 81, notching a birdie on the par-4 fifth hole.
Senior Linna Brooks also finished her final round with an 81. She carded a birdie with a two on the par-3 11th hole.
The Bulldogs will have a couple weeks off before hosting the second-annual French Broad Collegiate Invitational at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, March 29-31. For more information on the FBCI, click HERE.
