Women’s Soccer Defeats South Carolina State 6-0

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team defeated South Carolina State, 6-0, in a preseason scrimmage at Greenwood Field, Saturday, August 17.
Sophomore Gillian Oyos led the attack for the Bulldogs with two second half goals to put away South Carolina State. She put the Bulldogs up 4-0 with the first goal of the second half before closing out the game with her second goal to give UNC Asheville the 6-0 victory.
Midfielder Maya Gutman led off the scoring for the Bulldogs with a breakaway goal past the goalkeeper with 27 minutes left in the first half. Courtney McCluskey followed that with a goal with 25 minutes left in the half to put the Bulldogs up 2-0.
With five minutes left in the first, sophomore transfer Ava Nkadi began her Bulldog career with a blistering goal to ensure a three goal advantage going into the half.
Chloe Lamenzo led off her Bulldog career with a goal on a penalty kick with six minutes left in the game.
