Bush Announces Addition of Ten to Women's Soccer Program

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's soccer head coach Clifton Bush announced the addition of ten new Bulldogs to the 2019 roster on Tuesday, July 30.

"We are very excited to get started with this talented group of young women," UNC Asheville women's soccer head coach Clifton Bush said. "Looking at this class, we feel we have gained the type of players that will help us play the style of soccer we envision. This group will be a big part of laying the foundation for what Bulldog soccer will be known for and their versatility will be a vital part of our process. Most importantly, the individual character and values these women have aligns with who we are as a community. Their commitment to growth in the classroom and on the playing field will help push our program to the top of the Big South. I am looking forward to the quality soccer our program will be playing this coming season with the help of these young women."

Madison Carter comes to Asheville after spending the 2019 spring season playing for Washington State where she played in every spring game. Prior to her time with Washington State, Carter spent the fall of 2018 with the University of Portland where she saw time in 15 games and garnered four starts as a freshman. She scored her first collegiate goal versus St. Mary's. Carter is a product of Timberline High School in Boise, Idaho. The 5-11 midfielder earned three varsity letters for the Timberline Wolves and was named to the 5A First-Team All-Conference in 2017. Carter accumulated 17 goals and five assists in her senior season. She played her club soccer for FC Nova in the ECNL and was a member of the U-15 team that was ranked 32nd nationally. She was recognized as the Day Three "Standout Performer" at the ECNL Houston Showcase in 2016 and won three-straight State Cup titles from 2014-16.

Chloe Lamenzo joins the Bulldogs out of Highline College in Des Moines, Wash. where she started 16 games last season and scored nine goals while playing outside midfield. Lamenzo spent the 2017-18 season at Earlham College where she was named the HCAC Freshman of the Year. She was also named to the All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer team while scoring 12 goals and totaling 29 points during her freshman season. Lamenzo also competed in track and field at Earlham and broke the school's triple jump record and the women's 4x100 record. The Olympia, Wash. native attended Capital High School where she was named first team All-Conference for four straight years and was named team MVP. The 5-4 midfielder/defender played her club soccer for Seattle Reign ECNL. 

A local product out of Asheville, N.C., Olivia Lenderman joins the program out of Asheville High School. The 5-10 forward was named to the All-Conference team four times in soccer and three times in basketball while in high school. Lenderman was a three-time All-Region soccer player and was named to the North Carolina All-State team. Lenderman helped lead her high school team to victory in the Western Mountain Athletic Conference championship game in the 2017 season. She played her club soccer for HFC in Asheville, N.C. and won two Premiere League titles during her time there.  

Mackenzie Gower comes to Asheville from Raleigh, N.C. where she attended Leesville Road High School. She was a 2019 All-Conference, All-Region and All-State selection and also participated in the 2019 All Star Game. The 5-3 forward helped lead Leesville Road High School to three straight conference championships and an undefeated 2019 season. Gower was a four-time Academic All-Conference recipient. She played her club soccer for ECNL NCFC from 2016-2019.

Kennedy McCoy joins the women's soccer program out of Brentwood, Tenn. The Brentwood High School product was named the Brentwood High Girls Soccer Player of the Year for the 2018 season. McCoy's high school team was regional champions in 2018 and district champions in 2017. The 5-8 forward/defender played her club soccer for the Tennessee Soccer Club and won the 2019 ECNL Ohio Valley Conference Championship and were ECNL National Qualifiers.

Barrett Eidson is a midfielder from Rocky Mount Academy in Rocky Mount, N.C. The Tarboro, N.C. native was All-Conference in three sports in high school. She was given the honor in basketball in 2019 and cross country in 2016. The 5-6 midfielder was named All-Conference in soccer for all four years of her high school career. Eidson was named team MVP in the 2017 season and was named Athlete of the Year for her accomplishments during the 2019 season. She was also named to the 2019 All-State team. Eidson led her team to the Carolina Independent Conference Championship in the 2019 season. She finished her high school career with 43 goals and 28 assists.

A 5-8 defender, Sarah Langille joins the Bulldogs out of South Carrol High School in Sykesville, Md. The Mount Airy, Md. native was named Team Captain as well as Scholar Athlete in 2019. She was also named first team All-County for her accomplishments in the 2017 and the 2019 seasons. She played her club soccer for the Soccer Association of Columbia (SAC) Showcase Premiere 00'. Langille helped lead her club team to the 2019 Maryland State Cup Championship and was a 2018 NPL National Tournament finalist. In 2016, Langille's Showcase Premiere 00' team was a Maryland State Cup Finalists and Open Cup finalists.   

Kate Sollom comes to Asheville from Raleigh, N.C. where she played her high school soccer at Franklin Academy in Wake Forest, N.C. The 5-9 midfielder was named All-Conference and All-Region during her senior season while leading her team to the 1A North Central Athletic Conference championship as well as the regional championship. Sollom's 2017 high school team won a conference championship, a regional championship and a state championship. During the 2019 season, Sollom scored 14 goals and secured a team-high 27 assists.

A 5-7 forward, Isabella Piso joins the Bulldogs out of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Piso was named a Broward County Honorable Mention for her accomplishments in the 2017-18 season as well as the 2018-19 season. The Pembroke Pines, Fla. native was named the 2018-19 STA Player of the Year and was named to the 2018-19 Miami Herald first-team. She was a varsity team captain in 2018-19 and led her team to the 2016-17 FHSAA State Championship title. In her junior and senior seasons, Piso combined for 37 games, 16 goals and 12 assists.

Courtney Crevani comes to Asheville out of IMG Academy in Bradenton Fla. Crevani was named All-County first team in 2016 as a sophomore. She was also team captain of TSF Academy and played in the Domestic Cup in 2016 in Spain, advancing to the semifinals. The 5-5 defender was on the U-16/17 USDA No. 10 ranked team in the country and the No. 3 seed in the DA League while qualifying for nationals in San Diego, Calif. Crevani was on the league championship team in 2017 and was a two-sport athlete in high school.

These 10 new Bulldogs will join Ava Nkadi, whose addition to the roster was announced on May 20, 2019, to create an incoming class of 11 to the UNC Asheville women's soccer program.

UNC Asheville women's soccer will open its season on Friday, August 23, at Greenwood Field versus American University at 6 p.m.
