About the Bulldogs
UNC Asheville finished the 2019 regular season with an overall record of 16-35. The Bulldogs finished conference play with a record of 9-18.

Three Bulldogs find themselves among the best offensive performers in the Big South Conference. Greg Gasparro finished regular season play with the seventh-best batting average in the conference at .331 and also finished fourth in on-base percentage at .439. Danny Wilson is tied for fourth in the Big South in RBIs with 48. The senior first baseman/right-handed pitcher also hit .309 with six home runs and 12 doubles in the 2019 regular season. Gasparro and Wilson proved to be pivotal two-way players for the Bulldogs as the duo combined for 71 innings pitched on top of their offensive performances this season.

Brandon Lankford finished the regular season with what was his best offensive season in a Bulldog uniform. The Bulldog clean-up hitter is second in the Big South in home runs with 15. That total puts Lankford in the top 36 in the entire country. The junior third baseman also finished the regular season third in slugging percentage (.587), eighth in on-base percentage (.421), eighth in runs scored (44) and eighth in total bases (108).

On the mound, Jordan Carr leads the Bulldogs with 63 innings pitched in 13 starts while freshman Jacob Edwards has thrown 50. 2 innings in 10 starts and 18 total appearances. Blake Brown began the season as a starter before shifting to the bullpen midseason. Brown's high velocity fastball and his ability to throw multiple innings have proven to be effective weapons out of the bullpen as the junior righty has struck out 61 batters in 50 innings pitched.

Austin Fahr has been one the most reliable arms that fifth-year head coach Scott Friedholm has turned to this season. The senior lefty has thrown 36.2 innings in 21 appearances with one start. Fahr has allowed 35 hits and pitched to a team-best 2.21 ERA in the 2019 season. The senior has allowed only one earned run in 24 innings pitched versus conference opponents this season. In Fahr's one start, the senior threw six innings of three hit ball while allowing one run and striking out six. Kole Harris secured the win for Fahr on May 16 at Gardner-Webb by picking up his 16th career save which puts him first in the Bulldog record book in the category. Harris has made 25 appearances in the 2019 season and has picked up eight saves which ties him for first in the Big South Conference.
