Caroline and Emma Houser Living Out Dream Playing Professionally in Sweden

It's a dream come true for Caroline and Emma Houser.
"It is so exciting to play professionally abroad because it has been a dream of mine since I was a child," Caroline Houser said. "It's so hard to stop playing the game you have grown up playing, so having the opportunity to continue playing has been amazing."
The Houser twins recently took their love of the beautiful game to Stockholm, Sweden where they are playing professionally for FC Djursholm.
The opportunity is one well-earned for the two Bulldog legends.
Caroline Houser ended her four-year career at Asheville as the program's leader in assists (24). In her final season with the Bulldogs in 2017, Caroline Houser netted four goals and tallied three assists in 18 starts. Emma Houser also started all 18 games where she posted a pair of goals and a trio of assists.
Both Caroline and Emma Houser were All-Big South selections during their time as a Bulldog.
The duo played on the inaugural Asheville City Soccer Club women's team during the summer of 2018.
"I am looking forward to grow as a player," Emma Houser said of joining FC Djursholm. "This is a great opportunity to test my skills in a country where I do not speak the language. The girls are very nice and help translate, but the practices are mainly in Swedish. Hopefully I will pick up a few words or phrases."
The Housers did not have long to acclimate though as they had to practice the day they arrived.
It's all part of the opportunity according to Caroline Houser.
"I am looking forward to growing as a player and person," Caroline Houser said. "I wanted to challenge myself, and going to a different country with a different language does that. The only way you can grow as a person is to put yourself in uncomfortable situations. Being halfway across the world allows myself to test my soccer abilities."
