Bulldogs Top Hatters on Road on Tuesday

DELAND, Fla. – UNC Asheville men's tennis defeated Stetson, 4-2, in a road matchup on Tuesday evening at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs are now 11-2 on the season.
"Great win for us today against a really tough Stetson team," UNC Asheville men's tennis head coach Tom Hand said. "We didn't play our best doubles point and they managed to steal it from us after we took a strong lead in a couple of matches. I was really pleased with the way the guys responded to get four wins, particularly Oli Nolan to clinch it for us at No. 2."
The Bulldogs fell to Stetson in the doubles portion of the event by dropping matches at No. 2 and No. 3. The match at No. 1 was left unfinished.
The early 1-0 lead wasn't enough for the Hatters as the Bulldogs dominated the singles portion of the match. Senior Henry Patten picked up his seventh win of the season with a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 1. Stetson would win the match at No. 3 to take a 2-1 lead, but it would be all Bulldogs the rest of the way.
Sirawit Daosaengsawang tied things up 2-2 for the Bulldogs with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 4, and Olly Cull was right on his heels with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 5 to give UNC Asheville the 3-2 lead. Oli Nolan followed them up with his seventh win of the season at No. 2 to clinch the 4-2 victory for the Bulldogs. The match at No. 6 was left unfinished.
The Bulldogs will play their third match in three days on Wednesday, March 13, when they travel to Fort Myers, Fla. to face FGCU at 12:30 p.m.Â
