UNC Asheville to Hold First Responders Day at Kimmel Arena on Feb. 9

ASHEVILLE. N.C. – UNC Asheville athletics has partnered with Firehouse Subs to honor, recognize and thank local First Responders in the community.
UNC Asheville has designated Saturday, Feb. 9 as First Responders Day at Kimmel Arena. As part of First Responders Day, all local First Responders will receive a complimentary ticket to the men's basketball game against Charleston Southern at 2 p.m. at Kimmel Arena.
First Responders will also receive a discount so that friends and family can attend the game as well. The special friends and family general admission ticket is just $7.
UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone is thankful for the opportunity to honor local First Responders.
"Having our local First Responders join us for a Bulldog basketball game is the least we can do for all that they do for us in the community," Cone said. "We are blessed to have so many in the community that go above and beyond for others. I encourage all of the community to join us on Feb. 9 to help us say thank you to all of our local First Responders."
A passion for honoring those who put others first is something that Firehouse values and they are thankful for the opportunity to work with UNC Asheville.
"We at Firehouse Subs are proud to support UNC Asheville basketball and our local First Responders. We are truly proud to be a part of this community," local Firehouse Subs owner, Glenda Weinert, said.
