ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville men's tennis remained undefeated on the 2019 season with a 5-2 victory over Chattanooga on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.

"This was another good win for us," UNC Asheville men's tennis head coach Tom Hand said after the match. "I thought the guys competed well. I don't think we saw our best tennis today all the way up and down the lineup, but I think everybody competed hard, which is always a nice thing and a good place to start. We've got another tough one next weekend at UNCG. They are always a tough team. We are looking forward to a good day of rest on Monday and then another good week of practice."

The match commenced with UNC Asheville (6-0) taking the doubles point over Chattanooga (3-4) with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. The match at No. 2 doubles was left unfinished with the Bulldogs already taking the point.

At No. 1 singles, Oli Nolan and Henry Patten improved to 3-0 on the spring season with a 6-2 win over Kerim Hyatt and Simon Bustamante. The match was the first for the Bulldog duo as the No. 1 team in the country.

UNC Asheville's duo of Quinn Fender and Charlie Morkel garnered the win at No. 3 doubles with a 6-3 victory over Pablo Llebeili and Jacob Marshall.

The Bulldogs would go on to secure wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 singles to collect the overall 5-2 victory.

Patten remained undefeated in singles in 2019 with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Niklas Gerdes. Nolan also stayed perfect in singles on the spring season with a 6-3, 0-6, 6-4 win over Tomas Rodriguez.

Sirawit Daosaengsawang garnered his team-best fourth singles win of the season with a 6-2, 7-6 win over Bustamante at No. 4 singles. Olly Cull earned his third singles win of the season with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Marshall at No. 5 singles.
