Track and Field to Kick Off Indoor Season at App State Open this Weekend

BOONE, N.C. – UNC Asheville track and field is set to open its 2019-20 indoor season at the Appalachian State Open, Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7, in Boone, N.C.
UNC Asheville is entering its first year under new head coach, Danny Williamson. Williamson's coaching resume his highlighted by 32 Southern Conference titles and last year he led Lenoir-Rhyne to a South Atlantic Conference Championship.
About the Appalachian State Open
The Appalachian State Open is a two-day meet that will take place in the Holmes Center on the campus of Appalachian State University.
Two field events will be featured Friday night with the men's and women's weight throw and triple jump beginning at 5 p.m.
On Saturday, the field events will begin at 10 a.m. and the running events are scheduled to begin just after 11 a.m. The final event of the meet is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. with the 4x300m relay.
