Blue Hose Match Play Final Results
NINETY SIX, S.C. – Three Bulldogs picked up victories during the final round of competition at the Blue Hose Match Play, Tuesday, as UNC Asheville's women's golf team took down The Citadel, 3-2.
Senior Adelyn Deery made it a clean sweep in the tournament, defeating The Citadel's Ashlee Richardson, four-and-two, to earn her third victory in three matches at the Par-72, 6-175-yard layout of the Patriot Golf Club.
Sophomore Baylee Evans picked up a victory playing in the first pairing, as she took down Mackenzie Battle, three-and-two.
After a couple near-misses during the first day of competition, senior Kellen Alsip earned an elusive victory in match play. It turned out to be another nail-biter, but Alsip came away victorious with a one-up defeat of The Citadel's Andrea Hoos.
The Bulldogs return to action next week as they take part in the Terrier Intercollegiate, hosted by Wofford, Oct. 28-29. It will be the team's final event in 2019, as they will take four winter months off and return to competition, February 21-23, at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational, hosted by Mercer.
