Bulldogs Travel to Presbyterian for Blue Hose Match Play

NINETY SIX, S.C. – UNC Asheville's women's golf team gears up for its fourth tournament of the 2019-20 season at the second-annual Blue Hose Match Play, hosted by Presbyterian, Monday and Tuesday.

The first round of the event is scheduled for a 9 a.m. shotgun start, Monday, at the par-72, 6,121-yard Patriot Golf Club. The Bulldogs will be paired up with Samford during the first round of competition, with the first round featuring stroke play to determine seeding for the final two rounds of play.

Also in the first round, the hosts will take on Longwood, USC Upstate competes against The Citadel and Gardner-Webb squares off with Winthrop. The teams will compete head-to-head, with the winners advancing to the winner's bracket and losers moving into the consolation bracket.

The second round and beginning of match play is scheduled to start at 2 p.m., Monday, while the final round will begin with a shotgun start, 9 a.m., Tuesday.

The Bulldogs are coming off their best team finish of the season, coming in fifth at the Northern Kentucky Fall Classic, October 7-8. Senior Kellen Alsip led the way, finishing in a tie for seventh – the first top-ten finish for a Bulldog on the season.
