Four Bulldog Distance Swimmers Compete at the CSCAA National Collegiate Open Water Championship

CSCAA NATIONAL COLLEGIATE OPEN WATER CHAMPIONSHIPS INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
LAWRENCE, Kan. – To open the 2018-19 season, four Bulldog distance swimmers represented UNC Asheville swimming & diving at the CSCAA National Collegiate Open Water Championships on Saturday at Lone Star Lake.

Highlights
Junior Skylar Rogan had the quickest time for the Bulldogs, as the Athens, Ga. native clocked a 1:06:39.04. She had the highest individual finish for Asheville at 31st.
Adee Weller finished six spots behind her teammate. She earned a 1:07:03.31 time, which was over a four-minute improvement from last year's performance (1:11:20.31).
Catherine Allen, who led the Bulldogs at this event last year, finished 40th in the highly competitive field. The reigning CCSA Scholar-Athlete of the Year posted a 1:07:26.90, which was over a minute improvement from last year's result (1:08:37.55).
Senior Sydney VandenBerg wrapped up the times for UNC Asheville, as the Concord, N.C. native clocked a 1:11:38.21.
As a team, the Bulldogs finished in ninth with 108 points.
Missouri won the team title with seven points, and Audrey Guyett of Missouri won the individual title with a time of 1:03:06.31.
What's Next
The four Bulldog distance swimmers and the entire UNC Asheville swimming & diving team will be in action for the first-ever alumni meet on Saturday, Sept. 29. In conjunction with the alumni meet, the Bulldogs will host their annual intrasquad meet inside the Justice Center Pool at 11 a.m. that same day.
