Patten Bows Out in Round of 16 at Oracle ITA Masters

MALIBU, Calif. – UNC Asheville's Henry Patten bowed out of the 2018 Oracle ITA Masters with a round of 16 loss to Aleks Kovacevic of Illinois on Friday, Sept. 21.
Kovacevic picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win over Patten in the matchup.
The two-time reigning Big South Player of the Year picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win over Lorenzo Fucile of Grand Canyon to move on to the round of 16 just one day earlier.
The 2018 Oracle ITA Masters is being held September 20-23 in Malibu, Calif. at the Malibu Racquet Club and Pepperdine University.
The 2018 Oracle ITA Masters features 32-player singles competitors per gender. Invitations were sent out to one man and one woman from each Division I Conference to participate with criteria similar to the NCAA Tournament being used.
Patten represented not only UNC Asheville, but the Big South Conference on the men's side of things. Lauren Proctor of Winthrop represented Big South women's tennis.
In mixed doubles, Patten teamed with Proctor to start the event on Thursday with a win in the round of 32 before the duo bowed out in the round of 16.
