Colclough and Nolan Take Title at 2018 Ilkley Open

ILKLEY, Great Britain – Edward Colclough and Oli Nolan have picked up right where they left off in the 2018 spring season this summer.
Winners of seven straight in doubles to close out the spring campaign for the Bulldogs, the duo recently won the Open Men's Doubles championship at the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) 2018 Ilkley Open at the Ilkley Lawn Tennis & Squash Club Limited.
The LTA is the national governing body of tennis in Great Britain, the Channel islands and the Isle of Man.
Seeded fourth in the tournament, Colclough and Nolan bested sixth-seeded Adam Barratclough and Luke Laws 6-7, 6-3, 10-5 to take the title.
Colclough is a junior for the Bulldogs from Lincoln, United Kingdom, while Nolan is a sophomore for UNC Asheville men's tennis from Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Overall, the duo finished the 2018 spring campaign with 11 wins for the Bulldogs playing mainly at No. 2 doubles. The 11 wins tied Henry Patten and Olly Cull for the most wins in doubles on the team.
Colclough and Nolan registered 10 wins at No. 2 doubles during the 2018 season. Their 10-4 record overall at the position allowed them to have the second-best winning percentage in all of the Big South (.714) at No. 2 doubles.
