07.18.2018 | Women's Golf

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – After starting the women's golf program three years ago, Breanne Hall announced she is leaving the program to become the next head coach at Illinois State.

Hall leaves the UNC Asheville program that is entering its third season of existence.

During her time at the helm, she has led the program to a standard of excellence on the links. She has coached three postseason award winners and two Golfers of the Week. Hall has also seen her team earn six Freshman Golfer of the Week and ten WGCA All-America Scholars accolades.

Highlighting her stint in Asheville, Hall and the Bulldogs won two tournaments. The first team victory was during the inaugural season at the Oyster Shuck Match Play in Charleston, S.C. This past season, the Bulldogs won the first tournament of the season – the NKU Fall Classic – en route to posting the program's lowest 54-hole tournament score ever (914).

At the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate last season, Hall led the Bulldogs to their first-ever sub-300 round score in the second round of the two-day tournament. Highlighting that record round was Adelyn Deery and Taylor Hinson, as each recorded UNC Asheville's first-ever sub-par round (1-under 71).

Following the second year at UNC Asheville, Hall guided the Bulldogs to nearly a nine-stroke average improvement from their inaugural campaign (319.21 in 2016-17 and 310.56 in 2017-18).

Overall, Hall has seen her team finish in the top-5 in four tournaments, including 15 top-15 individual finishes.
