A Day They Will Always Remember: UNC Asheville Women’s Golf Surprised With Team Van

ARDEN, N.C. – It was a complete surprise.
It's something that the UNC Asheville women's golf program has been needing since the start of the program, but after two full seasons, it is also something that they now have.
The UNC Asheville women's golf program was presented with a specially outfitted van on Monday, May 7, at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.
The van will now allow the UNC Asheville women's golf program to travel to various events and golf tournaments in their own customized van.
The UNC Asheville golf van was made possible by The Cliffs and by a group of private donors.
"What a great surprise for our student-athletes," UNC Asheville women's golf head coach Breanne Hall said. "During our first two years as a program, this is something that we have noticed that we needed to be able to continue to place ourselves among the best in women's college golf. The generosity of others to make this van a reality allows our student-athletes the opportunity to continue to have one of the premier experiences in college golf at UNC Asheville."
UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone is truly thankful that the vision for this golf van is now a reality.
"When we started this program, this was always in our plans, but it takes a great deal to make things such as this happen," Cone said. "We could not have done this without our friends at The Cliffs and the many private donors who worked hard behind the scenes to surprise our student-athletes with this new van that will allow our Bulldogs to promote UNC Asheville everywhere they travel in a very unique way."
In just two seasons, UNC Asheville women's golf has already won two tournaments and numerous individual accolades such as freshman Taylor Hinson earning Big South All-Freshman Team honors this year and sophomore Linna Brooks being named Big South All-Academic. Last year, Becca Black was named to the Big South All-Freshman Team.
