ROCK HILL, S.C. – The UNC Asheville men's tennis team bowed out of the Big South Men's Tennis Championship with a 4-1 loss to Campbell in the quarterfinals.
The match opened with seventh-seeded UNC Asheville (7-13) dropping the doubles point to second-seeded Campbell (15-5).
Big South Men's Tennis Player of the Year Henry Patten won his ninth straight in singles to take the lone point on the day for UNC Asheville with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Lorenz Schwab at No. 1 singles. The victory was Patten's 12th of the season.
Campbell from there would win at No. 2 singles, No. 5 singles and No. 6 singles to secure the match and advance to the semifinals.
