Bulldogs Drop Heartbreaker on Road at Radford

RADFORD, Va. – UNC Asheville narrowly missed on a league road win at Radford with the Bulldogs falling 4-3 on Saturday, March 31.
The match opened with Radford (9-8, 3-3 Big South Conference) taking what would prove to be a pivotal doubles point over UNC Asheville (9-8, 2-4 Big South Conference).
UNC Asheville despite losing the doubles point did take one win in doubles with the No. 1 duo of Kylee Shipley and Hannah Francisco earning a 7-6 (7-4) victory over Radford's Natalie Sayer and Tyler Blalock. Shipley and Francisco are now an impressive 13-4 on the 2018 spring season.
The Bulldogs took wins in singles at the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 spots.
Francisco secured the win at No. 4 singles with a 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 win over Blalock, while Amalie Davidsen collected a 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5 singles over Zoe Fraser.
Taylor Love garnered a hard-fought 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (12-10) win over Jeanie Acierto at No. 6 singles.
UNC Asheville will next welcome league foe Presbyterian College to the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4.
