UNC Asheville’s Distance Medley Relay Nearly Breaks School Record on Final Day of Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The UNC Asheville women's distance medley relay nearly broke the school record, as the Bulldog men's and women's track and field teams concluded competition at the Florida Relays on Saturday.
Meet Highlights
To kick off the final day for the Bulldogs, the women's track team competed in the 4 x 200m relay. Asheville clocked a 1:43.77, which placed it 27th out of 31 teams.
On the men's side of the same event, the Bulldogs recorded a 1:31.73, which earned them an 18th-place finish on Saturday.
In the women's distance medley, four Bulldogs – Kamyrn DeCarmo, Jasmine Cox, Kelley Coleman and Phoebe Schneider - inked a 12:30.36. That time placed them 16th in a highly-competitive field. That time also moved the foursome into second place in the all-time record book. The time was just 0.02 seconds off from matching the school record.
In the final event of the day for the Bulldogs, UNC Asheville just missed on a top-10 finish in the men's distance medley, as it finished 11th. The Bulldogs recorded a 10:13.06 time in the event.
