UNC Asheville Looks to Keep Up Winning Ways in Home League Match Against Presbyterian College on Wednesday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's tennis team looks to keep up its winning ways when they play host to league foe Presbyterian College at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.

UNC Asheville (6-8, 1-2 Big South Conference) hosts Presbyterian College (5-11, 1-1 Big South Conference) having won its last three matches.

BULLDOG BITES

Last Time Out

UNC Asheville collected its third straight win with a 6-1 victory over Delaware on Monday, March 26, at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.

UNC Asheville (6-8) opened the match by taking the doubles point over Delaware (10-5) with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

At No. 1 doubles, UNC Asheville's Henry Patten and Olly Cull remained perfect on the year with a 6-1 win over Blaise Casselbury and Colin Wong. The Bulldog duo is now 9-0 on the season.

Oli Nolan and Edward Colclough won their second straight with a 6-2 win over Delaware's Justice Jones and Curran Verma at No. 2 doubles.

UNC Asheville would go on to win five of the six singles flights with four of the five wins coming in straight sets.

Ranked 69th nationally, Patten won his third straight with a dominating 6-1, 6-0 win over Verma at No. 1 singles. Nolan took a 7-6, 6-4 win over Dustin Britton at No. 2 singles, while Colclough garnered a 6-2, 6-1 win over Wong at No. 3 singles.

Cull secured his team-best eighth win in singles with a 7-6, 6-1 win over Casselbury at No. 4 singles, while James Massie secured a hard-fought 6-7, 6-2, 1-0 (11-9) win over Guilherme Valdoleiros at No. 6 singles.

About the Blue Hose
Presbyterian College makes its way to Asheville with a 5-11 overall record and a 1-1 mark in league play. Daniel Stenger leads the Blue Hose with nine singles wins on the year. Playing all of his matches at No. 1 singles, Alexander Lykou has five wins on the year. Lykou and doubles partner Brandon Mills have the most wins in doubles with six wins all at the No. 1 spot.

Still Perfect
UNC Asheville's Henry Patten and Olly Cull are still undefeated on the year in doubles. The duo is 9-0 overall. All of the nine wins have come at No. 1 doubles.
