Hinson Earns Third Big South Freshman of the Week Honor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Freshman golfer Taylor Hinson was named the Big South Conference Freshman of the Week for her play at the highly-competitive Briar's Creek Invitational in Johns Island, S.C.
The league office officially announced the honor on Thursday, March 22.
The Freshman of the Week honor is Hinson's third Rookie of the Week award and the fourth overall honor of her career.
This week, Hinson placed 20th at the Briar's Creek Invitational. She opened the tournament shooting a 1-over 73, and later that day, she finished the second round with a 2-over 74. She capped off her two-day tournament with an even-par 72, which matched a career-best round for the rookie.
Hinson currently has a 76.80 scoring average, which is the lowest on the team and ranked in the top 15 in the Big South.
Hinson and the Bulldogs return to the links on April 1-2, as they will compete in the regular-season finale Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate. The two-day tournament is hosted by Appalachian State and will be held in Morganton, N.C.
