Meet Schedule


ASHEVILLE, N.C. –  In the regular-season finale for the indoor track and field season, the UNC Asheville men's and women's teams travel to Huntington, W. Va. to compete in the Chipotle Marshall Invitational on Feb. 9-10.

Last Time Out

Senior sprinter Kayli Nichols had a strong showing at the Darius Dixon Invitational last weekend as she qualified for the semifinals in the 60m hurdles, as well as posting a top-half finish in the 200m. She recorded the second-fastest time in the preliminary round of the 60mH (8.94), and in the the semis, Nichols clocked in at 8.90, as she was only one spot away from qualifying from the finals.

Sophomore Matthew Harding had a strong performance, as he was runner-up in two events - 1000m and 500m. He recorded a time of 1:03.58 in the 500m and finished his performance at the meet with a 2:26.88 in the 1000m. 

Victor Mathuthu continued to join the UNC Asheville record books as he made a leap of 6.76m in the long jump, which is the third-longest jump in program history. In the triple jump, he almost matched the program record as he fell 0.01m from the 14.06m record he set at the Keydet Invitational. 

Hunter Koike had a strong performance in the 200m, as the senior finished ninth with a 22.26. 

Dominic Collichio posted a top-10 finish with a 15:15.77 time in the 5000m. 

About the Chipotle Marshall Invitational

The meet is a two-day event and is hosted by Conference USA member Marshall. 

UNC Asheville and Winthrop will be the two lone representatives from the Big South Conference. In total, there are 12 schools participating in the meet.

Friday will hold nine total events with four track events (men's and women's DMR and men's and women's 5000m) and five field events (men's and women's pole vault and men's and women's weight throw and men's long jump).

The men's and women's high jump and men's triple jump will kick off the final day of the meet on Saturday. The first track event will start at noon with the women's 60mH, and the final event of the meet will be the men's 1600m at 4:15 p.m.
