Nolan and Patten to Represent UNC Asheville Men’s Tennis at Oracle ITA National Fall Championships

SURPRISE, Ariz. – The UNC Asheville doubles duo of Oli Nolan and Henry Patten will represent the Bulldogs in the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex.
Nolan and Patten will take on nationally 29th-ranked Martin Joyce and Hunter Tubert of Ohio State in the first round of the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships.
The match on Court 14 will get underway at 7 p.m. EST on Wednesday. You can follow live HERE.
The Bulldog duo captured the doubles title at the ITA Carolina Regional Championship on Tuesday, Oct. 16, to advance to the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships.
The fifth-seeded Bulldog duo bested fourth-seeded Bo Boyden and Anu Kodali of North Carolina 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (8) in the doubles championship match of the ITA Carolina Regional Championship at Cary Tennis Park on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
In picking up the title at the ITA Carolina Regional Championship Nolan and Patten bested third-seeded Simon Baudry and Yi Zhou Liu of Clemson 6-4, 6-3 in the quarterfinals on Monday, Oct. 15. The duo then downed sixth-seeded Mac Kiger and Josh Peck of North Carolina 6-4, 6-4 in the semifinals.
Patten and Nolan started the event with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Joseph Schrader and Tristan Smith of NC State on Saturday, Oct. 13. The duo then bested Ladd Harrison and Arturo Schmidt of North Carolina 7-6 (3), 6-1 in the second round on Saturday. The Bulldog doubles duo then bested Gardner-Webb's Millen Hurrion and Maximilian Scholl 6-2, 7-6 (1) on Sunday, Oct. 15 to advance to the quarterfinals.
The title was the second of the fall for Nolan and Patten.
Earlier this fall the duo picked up the title at the 51st Southern Intercollegiate Championships at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
It's also the second straight year that the Bulldogs have claimed a title at the ITA Carolina Regional with Patten capturing the singles title in 2017.
