Stone Named to the NCCSIA All-State Second Team

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Senior defender Ellie Stone was honored by the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA), as the Asheville, N.C. native was named to the All-State Second Team.

The award was announced on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018.

Stone was a four-year starter for UNC Asheville, and the senior defender played primarily as a center back for the Bulldogs. During her tenure in Asheville, Stone played in 68 matches, which included 66 starts on the backline. She totaled 5,576 minutes in a Bulldog uniform, including logging 1,446 minutes during her senior year. She also contributed to UNC Asheville's 1.35 goals against average and pair of shutouts during the 2018 season.

This is the second postseason honor for the senior defender, as she was named to the Second Team All-Conference by the Big South Conference.
