Bulldogs Fall on Road at High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. – UNC Asheville volleyball dropped its match at High Point on Saturday, 3-0 (25-22, 25-9, 25-14).
UNC Asheville (6-11, 1-6 Big South) led early in the first set, but High Point (13-8, 8-1 Big South) would narrowly secure a 25-22 win in the first set. High Point would then collect the next two sets to secure the 3-0 win.
"It was a tough match," UNC Asheville volleyball head coach Frederico Santos said after the match. "High Point was definitely very good. We came out strong in set one, but we couldn't maintain our momentum in the next two sets. I thought our effort was good against one of the top teams in the country."
Cara Guthrie led UNC Asheville in the match with High Point with seven kills. Madisen Zyburt finished with 19 digs for the Bulldogs.
Carter Kennedy ended the match with eight assists, while Kailey Hackett had seven.
Molly Livingston had a match-best 12 kills for High Point.
UNC Asheville volleyball will next play host to two matches next weekend at the Justice Center. The Bulldogs will first host Charleston Southern at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19 before hosting Presbyterian College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20.
