Nolan and Patten Advance in Doubles at ITA Carolina Regional

CARY, N.C. – The UNC Asheville doubles duo of Henry Patten and Oli Nolan advanced to the third round of the ITA Carolina Regional Championship at the Cary Tennis Park with two wins on Saturday.
Patten and Nolan started the day with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Joseph Schrader and Tristan Smith of NC State. The duo then bested Ladd Harrison and Arturo Schmidt of North Carolina 7-6 (3), 6-1 to move on to play in the third round on Sunday.
In singles, Patten bowed out in the third round with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 loss to Julian Zlobinsky of Wake Forest. Nolan dropped his third round match to Zac Talic of Coastal Carolina 7-6 (2), 6-7 (3), 6-4.
UNC Asheville's Olly Cull is still alive in the consolation singles bracket after a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 win over Vlad Anghel of East Carolina. Cull will take on Ryan Mueller of Wake Forest in the third round on Sunday.
