ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's soccer head coach Michelle Demko announced the addition of Courtney McCluskey on Tuesday afternoon.

McCluskey is already enrolled at UNC Asheville and taking classes for the spring semester.

The 5-foot-10 inch forward will provide a dominant force in the attacking half of the field as she will slot in as a target striker for the Bulldogs this upcoming season. 17544

"I anticipate using her in the target striker role. Being 5'10," we hope to take advantage of her size and strength to hold the ball up in the final third and be 'goal' dangerous in the box off services," Demko said. "She's already fitting in well with her teammates after being on campus with us for a week."

McCluskey hails from Holladay, Utah where she played for her club team - the Utah Avalanche.

"I'm excited Courtney decided to begin her college career early with us. She embodies a commitment to growth and development that is self initiated," said Demko. "Her work ethic is what separates her from others. This type of mindful focus will continue to push our program in a competitive direction and ultimately increase the level around her."
