Meet Highlights
The Bulldogs had a great outing on Saturday at Brenau as they won 15 out of 16 total events. Even though the Bulldogs won 15 events, there was tight competition between both squads to earn team points.Â
Sophomore Adee Weller and junior Sydney VandenBerg claimed first and second place, respectively, in the mile as Weller went a season-best, unsuited time with a 17:59.24.Â
Immediately following the mile, the Bulldogs swept the top four spots in the 200 freestyle and continued to sweep the events as the meet went on. Sophomore Catherine Allen had an unsuited, season-best time in her 200 freestyle with a 1:57.90.Â
Freshman Aleta Jewell took third place points with her season-best, unsuited time in the 200 butterfly with a 2:19.01.Â
There were multiple other personal victories for the Bulldogs.Â
With the final regular season road meet behind them, the Bulldogs are getting physically and mentally prepared for the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Conference Championships next month in Athens, Ga. Â
Quotable
"The team had a nice outing today at NAIA opponent Brenau University. Being our last road outing of the season before championships, we wanted an opportunity to race and challenge ourselves. Our goal was to execute race strategies and fine-tune stroke techniques, and I feel we did a good job with this."
"We're looking forward to celebrating our eight seniors next weekend in a two-day dual meet to close the regular the season."
