Hinson Garners Freshman of the Week Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Freshman Taylor Hinson garnered her second Big South Conference accolade this year as the Belmont, N.C. native was named the Big South Freshman of the Week after her performance at the Pirate Collegiate Classic in Greenville, N.C.
Hinson led the UNC Asheville women's golf team this week as she finished tied for 23rd at the Greenville Country Club. In the two-day tournament, she carded a 9-over 225 (77-72-76). Hinson's second round score of even-72 tied the program record for lowest round score and matched a personal best set at the NKU Fall Classic set two weeks ago.
Highlighting her three-round performance at the Pirate Collegiate Classic was her eagle on the par-5, 440-yard 18th hole in the third round. In the two-day tournament, she inked 11 total birdies, which was tied for the 3rd-most in the tournament field.
Hinson and the Bulldogs return to the links on Oct. 2 as UNC Asheville travels to Clarksville, Tenn. to compete in the two-day F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate.
